Irene Video Project

Vermont is Open for Business Video Project

What is it:  A short-form quick-cut online video (maximum 10 minutes) with the positive theme “Vermont is Open for Business”.

Why we are producing this online video:  We want to assure vacationers that much of Vermont is ready to show them a good time, despite Irene, and that areas affected by Irene are recovering quickly.

Where this video will be available:  We will make this online video available via the Chamber's Facebook page and on YouTube.

What will this video show?  We want to assemble a collage of fast moving video clips of business owners and visitors across the state, speaking to the camera that businesses “are open for business” and that visitors are "having a great time."  Each business owner or visitor should speak for just 5-10 seconds, and provide a positive, reassuring message to concerned vacationers.  For businesses that were affected by Irene, the message should be positive and focused on quick recovery.

How you can help:  We need anyone with a digital video camera, video-equipped iPhone or other smartphone, to shoot these videos in their communities and get them to us via e-mail (short clips only via e-mail), FTP, or You Send It (free 14-day trial).  Amateur video is perfectly acceptable and even desirable as it will reinforce the viral nature of this project.  This video will be produced over Labor Day Weekend and be posted online as soon as it is completed.
